Walking with God… Is it easy?

As I reflected on the means of grace and their role in the way of salvation, these words were penned to creatively describe these graces and the impact that they have on me and other believers. It is my hope that others can understand clearly what these graces are.

Walking with God… Is it easy?

Like a, b, c, 1, 2, 3… easy?

No, it is not easy,

but it is a possibility.

 

Our growth in knowledge and grace,

Only comes when we seek God’s face.

It is still a walk with God by His grace,

And our access to the Means of Grace.



The Participated Means of Grace reflect the work of Christ,

In practices like the Lord’s Supper and being baptized

Then, the Instituted Means of Grace came from Scripture.

They include prayer, fasting, and the reading of Scripture.

 

The General Means of Grace calls for self-denial,

A transformation of the attitude of the individual

The Extraordinary Means interrupted the traditional

For Wesley, these practices were seasonal.

 

Finally, before I begin to bore you.

There are some graces that are just wise to do.

These are the Prudential Means that Jesus said of you,

Do these things to the very least of you.
